The Proverbs 31 wife is worth far more then rubies, she is admirable, she is beautiful, she is hardworking, and she is praiseworthy. Truth be told I have a lot to learn from her, and I desire to imitate her and implement many of her remarkable qualities into my life.

One of the qualities I have been striving to imitate is found in Proverbs 31:15

“…. She provides food for her family…”

Over the last three years I have really enjoyed preparing meals for my family, however I didn’t have a conviction that is was a part of my responsibility as a Godly wife to do so.  It didn’t become a conviction until this last year when my husband Coltin got sick a few times. He caught strep throat, bronchitis, shingles, and even hand mouth and foot disease.

It became very clear that I needed to become more like the proverbs 31 woman and consistently provide healthy meals for my husband.  God blessed me with an amazing husband, and I really want him to enjoy amazing (and healthy) meals!!

Though we do still occasionally order a pizza, or eat something fast on the go overall we have come a long way in our eating habits. I would love to share some pictures with my readers (friends & family) of recent meals I have prepared:

Tatar tot & turkey casserole, salad and corn on the cob.

Zuppa Toscana (Spicy sausage and potato soup)

Copycat olive garden recipe

Creamy garlic chicken, salad with blue cheese, and potatoes boiled in butter and garlic.

(Garlic is a natural antibiotic and very healthy, and so has become one of my favorite ingredients)

Classic Meatloaf

Coltin calls this a “mans meal” as its full of meat and it never hurts to add extra eggs as they have been

deemed the perfect protein.

Sun dried tomato hummus/chicken wraps

I love hummus, especially the sabra brand as they offer a great variety of flavors.

This meal includes sun dried tomato hummus, fresh cherry tomatoes, spinach, shredded cheese, and chicken.

Coltin said he never tasted anything like it, but he seemingly really enjoyed it 🙂

Hailee’s meal is honey ham, garbanzo beans, diced prunes, and an onion roll.

Thai yellow curry

I like to pick up new sauces to keep dinner time exciting:)

Pancakes with strawberries

Coltin made me this for breakfast one day. I defiantatly married a man of noble character!!

I have fallen in love with preparing meals for my family! It pleases them, and I believe it pleases God when I serve my family in this way.  It has become my way of contributing to my husbands health, and it has brought us closer as we sit down to enjoy these meals together. I hope after reading this blog many other wives will begin to, or continue to provide food for your families!
